  • Meaning of the "12 Days of Christmas" song

I found this on GoPets group. I have never known that. That's cool to know. Now I love the song even more. LOL!

    ---------------

    The Twelve Days Of Christmas

There is one Christmas Carol that has always baffled me. What in the world do leaping lords, French hens, swimming swans, and especially the partridge who won't come out of the pear tree have to do with Christmas?
From 1558 until 1829, early Christians in England were not permitted to practice their faith openly. Someone during that era wrote this carol as a catechism song for young Catholics. It has two levels of meaning: the surface meaning plus a hidden meaning known only to members of the church. Each element in the carol has a code word for a religious reality which the children could remember.

The partridge in a pear tree was Jesus Christ.

Two turtle doves were the Old and New Testaments.

Three French hens stood for faith, hope and love.

The four calling birds were the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke & John.

The five golden rings recalled the Torah or Law, the first five books of the Old Testament.

The six geese a-laying stood for the six days of creation.

Seven swans a-swimming represented the sevenfold gifts of the Holy Spirit--Prophesy, Serving, Teaching, Exhortation, Contribution, Leadership, and Mercy.

The eight maids a-milking were the eight beatitudes.

Nine ladies dancing were the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit--Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self Control.

The ten lords a-leaping were the ten commandments.

The eleven pipers piping stood for the eleven faithful disciples.

The twelve drummers drumming symbolized the twelve points of belief in the Apostles' Creed.

  • When I say... "I am a Christian"

I found this on one of the blogs when I was playing GoPet.  I thought yes, that's right..

    BTW, I'm home again.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    When I say... "I am a Christian"

WHEN I SAY I AM CHRISTIAN

    When I say... "I am a Christian"

I'm not shouting "I am Saved."

    I'm whispering "I was Lost!

That is why I Chose this Way."

    *****

    When I say... "I am a Christian"

I don't speak of this with Pride.

    I'm confessing that I Stumble

and need Someone to be My Guide.

    *****

    When I say... "I am a Christian"

I'm not trying to be Strong.

    I'm Professing that I'm Weak

and Pray for Strength to Carry On.

    *****

    When I say... "I am a Christian"

    I'm not bragging of Success.

    I'm admitting I have Failed

and Cannot Ever Pay the Debt.

    *****

    When I say... "I am a Christian"

I'm not claiming to be Perfect,

    my Flaws are too Visible

but God believes I'm Worth it.

    *****

    When I say... "I am a Christian"

I still feel the sting of Pain.

I have my share of Heartaches

which is why I Seek His Name.

    *****

    When I say... "I am a Christian"

I do not wish to Judge.

    I have no Authority

    I only Know I'm Loved.

  • I'm not dead, I promise!

    LOL!!
Ok, so it has been a long time since I posted. Nothing much happened really. Except for the retreat I went on and I got my new car's title registered. That is about it I think.
I'm content, not very frustrated at the world, so there is nothing to complain. I got good friends. I hang out at fellowship. I have God as best friend. What more do I need??
Although studying for FE exam isn't all that fun. But once it's over, it's over ne? (That is, if I pass)
So anything else you want to know? I don't have much to say.

From laborday retreat camp, I realize something, I have not being doing my job that I was made to do. I have hurt you all by not sharing my faith. So from now on, for those people I know or know me that does not know I'm a Christian or know about Christ, I shall be braver and share my faith with you. Because I am accountable to you. If you are in danger, and I ignore you, I get punished twice over. Once for your mistake, and another for my ignorance. SO! I shall be brave right now and give you are quick run down of my believe. Jesus Loves You! Yup! You heard it! He loves you alot! And He wants to carry your burden (worries of tommorrows exam? parents not saticefied of your abilities?). And Most of all, He wants to save you from eternal death and condamination. *nod* Want to know how? Just BELIEVE! Yup so simple, yet so difficult!!!! Believe what you ask? Believe that Jesus died on the cross for your SINS and that he rose again so that the work is complete (thus your sins from the past, present and future are forgiven). What is Sin you ask? Well, I'll tell you, sin is what you done that is bad in your life. Have you ever lied? stolen something? BROKE a promise? KILLED  someone?! LOL! No matter big or small, the punishment of sin is death. But God has given you a way out, and that is through Jesus. He loves you so much, that he send his ONLY Son to die in your place. All you have to do is BELIEVE. Please don't pass up this chance. Please please please please please...! (I love you lots too, and I want to get to see you in Heaven.)

Ok, you must think I went bunkered now. But no worries! I'm in more right of mind than I ever was. And I am content. No more worries for me, God worries for me. ^___^;;;;;;; Anyways, if you don't feel like reading all that right now. It's ok, it'll still be here.

And if you do believe, email me, and I'll pray for you. Or if you have more questions (such as jessica are you crazy), email me and I'll explain.

Truely, if I don't love you I would not tell you all this. If I'm not filled with love, then I'd rather see you thirsty and burning in that hot place. But I love you, so I want to make sure I won't see you suffer.

    And remember, Jesus Loves YOU!

    Peace!
